Koh Tao
Koh Tao literally translated means “turtle island”, a remembrance that it used to be home to many sea turtles. Koh Tao is a tiny tropical island located 45km north of Koh Phangan and 65km north of Koh Samui in the Gulf of Thailand. Various beaches at 11 bays and 10 capes and dive sites all around the island fringe a tropical jungle.

Only 1/3 of the island is flat land while the rest are mountains and slopes in various degrees. The island consists of three main village areas which are connected by a concrete road leading from North to South.
Beautiful pristine beaches, crystal clear turquoise waters and stunning coral reefs and abundant marine life as well as a vibrant nightlife with loads of bars and a choice of really good restaurants make Koh Tao island one of the most beautiful and diverse destinations in southern Thailand.
Alex Mitsch, responsible for planning, design, architecture and marketing of Horizon, has a background and university degree in finance but spent the last decade teaching newbies how to dive and developed one of the largest teams of german scuba diving instructors in Thailand.
